I told you my plan was to finish up editing our honeymoon pictures this past weekend, well I didn't. But I did do them this morning! :) I'm gonna let the pictures do most of the talking this time around but before you scroll down I'll let you know the basics - Zak and I set off to Sedona, Arizona almost immediately after (and I mean the we didn't sleep kind of immediately after) our wedding just this past September. We picked Arizona as our destination mainly because that's where Z lived through a lot of his growing up years. He hadn't been back in a long time and I've never been at all, so for us it was the perfect spot. Somewhere warm that wasn't too close so it still felt like a real vacation, but not too far away since we didn't have all the time we would have liked. (One of the few downfalls of photographing weddings is when your partner and second shooter still has a day job and has to use a lot of his vacation days for Friday weddings and freelance work...) Anyway, Arizona was beautiful and I'm so grateful I was able to capture and share our piece of it. And I already know I'll be spending the rest of this week trying to decide when we can go back... :) soon Zak, soon.
After the sun would go down, or before we would set out for the day, we would find ourselves at a local eatery. Zak and I ate more than well out west and I wish I would have documented more of these excursions too. We've already forgotten some of the names of the amazing restaurants we were patrons of and the delicious dishes we will now be forever drooling over. Maybe I'll come across of few when I finally upload my phone photos. :)
The remaining days were filled with dessert adventures where we took lots and lots of photos, got rained out once, visited the Grand Canyon, won my first battle with a cactus, and enjoyed our time together on our first vacation ever alone as a couple.
Then it was off to the Grand Canyon - another first for me!
Needless to say, we took some pictures.
We made a couple of stops at the Grand Canyon and you guessed it, took more pictures!
We CAN NOT wait to go back! Anyone getting married out west any time soon??? :)
I know there are more pictures, but I've taken enough of your time! I'll post some more sometime when we all need to escape another frigid day is Wisco! Thanks so much for reading!
