So, funny story - Brittanie is a distant cousin of mine! Almost two years ago I was on Facebook and seen a notification that a friend had tagged me in reply to a question Brittanie had put out to her Facebook world looking for a photographer in the Fond du Lac area (since she lives in Missouri). Long story short, we met for the first time at our consultation and the rest is history. :)
Brittanie + Spenser were so awesome to work with. Super laid back, super cute, and both super funny! Their day was so light and filled with love, not only between them but within their families as well. They exchanged some of the best vows I've ever heard on a beautiful sunny day at Whispering Springs Golf Course. Seriously, best vows ever; a zombie apocalypse was mentioned. :) So, without further ado, please enjoy...
I love love love it when I get to witness an event or idea at a wedding that I haven't seen before. (Having been photographing weddings for over six years now I've seen a lot.) At Brittanie + Spenser's it was their unity ceremony! And since, I've found out that the saying "tying the knot' actually stems from this particular Irish tradition of binding the couples' hands together with these brightly colored ropes. It made me shed a tear or two, that's for sure!
Another little unique (to me) part of their day was their cake cutting. Well, the cakes they cut after they cut their cake. :) They had a small cake at every table and Brittanie + Spenser, along with their parents, cut each one. I thought it was a beautiful way to make sure all their guests got a little individual attention.
Then we stole a few more pictures outside before the party started.
Brittanie + Spenser:
Thank you so much for allowing Zak and I to be a part of your wedding! It was awesome to witness and capture not only your obvious love for each other, but even better, the apparent friendship you share. Your day was truly unique and beautiful in so many ways! I hope you enjoyed this little look back!
