I recently posted an update on how I/we did on our 2014 goals. Not too bad, but not amazing in any stretch. Shortly after I of course set out to create my 2015 goals.
2015 Business Goals:
1.) Book 4-6 more weddings for 2015.
I'm happy to say that on my original, hard-copy list this had 8 listed. But in the past couple weeks I have already booked 2 so I'm excited to see how the rest of engagement season unfolds! My goal for the year was 20...fingers crossed!
2.) Book 20 weddings for 2016, with at least five of them including video.
I have to continue to strive for more. Hidden in this goal is a push to market our video services more. How will people know to book us for video if they don't even know we offer it? If we can up our number of video bookings, we can start to seriously consider taking on this business full-time as a COUPLE! And that, my friends, is the end all, be all goal in my life. :)
3.) Plan 1-2 Bokeh Life Outings.
To my beloved members, I have not forgot about you!
4.) Blog 2x per week with richer content.
This is a recurring theme of mine. When I first set out blogging I thought this goal would be so easily achievable and for one reason or another it hasn't been. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it so much, but it is definitely more time consuming than I initially thought. Big kuddos to those out there that are consistent!
What gets me is I'm continually reminded of how effective it is for me and my business. But not even that, I fall in love with what the blog can/could mean to me as a personal history book when I take the time to look back and read past posts. And that's where the richer content part of this goal comes into play. I don't want it to only be a place where I share recent shoots - I want to share a little more insight into me and my life. Not only so readers can get to know me better, but so I can look back and be reminded on how great life is and why I love what I do.
5.) Throw a client party for our 2014 wedding couples.
I have officially started planning this and am getting super excited about it. Can't wait to show some much deserved appreciation!
6.) Book 50 non-wedding shoots.
7.) Utilize social media more effectively and more often.
I need to be doing this! I need to improve my consistency and presence on both my Facebook page and Instagram account. Again, both have proven to be well worth their effort and then some, so I feel silly when I go more than a day or two without taking advantage of this FREE advertising. And once again, it's super fun to take a look back every now and again. Plus, I really want to make a little Instagram book of our personal photos, but it'd be a pretty lame book with like seven pictures in it.
8.) Register for at least one bridal show.
I did one last year about this time and know that I've booked two weddings for sure from it. So for the money spent it does seem to be a valuable investment.
So there it is, what will hopefully be my 2015; consisting of more. More pictures, more posts, and more writing. Now I need to print this out and put copies of it all around my home and office to be a constant reminder of what I'm working towards!
To those of you that took the time to read this, I appreciate you. :) And good luck to any and all of you who have your own 2015 goals! I'll be posting my/our personal goals soon!
