I have another styled shoot, this time at The Iron Horse Hotel, with the supremely talented ladies from Destination Wisconsin Wedding TOMORROW! Through all of the rebranding research that I've been doing, there was one major thought that stuck with me,
"The only difference between you and everyone else, is you."
I'm not gonna lie, it stung a little bit at first. But that didn't make it any less true. We're all using the same cameras, while sometimes shooting in the same places, and then using the same editing software. So tomorrow's shoot for me is about sharing a little more of myself with you, complete with all things that speak my language like leather jackets, gorgeous florals, motorcycles, and romantic details, side-by-side an amazing group of local Wisconsin companies and wedding vendors!
I'm predicting 2018 to be the craziest year yet! Between having booked the most weddings (by like a lot) that we've ever had (thank you, thank you, thank you to those that have entrusted us with this honor), and having twice as many children as I've ever had :) it's going to get a little nuts. I'm beyond grateful, grateful and intimidated. I have just one foot into "busy season", so before both feet, my elbows, and ears are in it, I thought I'd quickly blog a fun little update and say hello to those that are new around here!
I can not wait to blog Krista + Kyle's wedding from last weekend! I've just started the editing process but already the anticipation of sharing is strong! I thought it might be fun (or a horrible tease) to first quickly put together a blog post from their engagement session last summer because I loved those pictures so much, too! And I promise to follow up with wedding photos soon, with plenty of their pup baby, Barney, included! :) Take a late summer scroll through some of my favorites from their engagement session and then below, see how you can be one of the first to know when I have their wedding photos blogged. :)
Meet one of Evie's future BFF's, Cyrus! Good, good friends of ours welcomed this sweet lil man just a couple weeks after our Evlyn and we couldn't be more excited! Here are some of my favorites from his newborn shoot!
I know Amanda and Josh were super happy they brought this blanket, because man, did it get cold towards the end of our engagement session a couple of weeks ago at Atwater Beach in Shorewood! But, the chilly temperatures just gave them all the more reason to snuggle, which isn't bad for me! Love this couple, love the images we made together, and love (and am honored) that they chose me to take this ride with them!
She's here, she's here, and we're all sooo in love! Evlyn Joe made our family a party of four on Tuesday, January 23 at 12:35 pm. Everyone is happy, and healthy, and over the moon!
I have a couple 2017 weddings waiting in the wings to be posted here on the blog buuut in light of our second little girl about to join our family, I was moved to post all my favorite newborn photos from the past year-ish instead! :) And oh my, are they making me even more anxious to meet our newest little soul. Take your time sweet, Evie, but do it fast! :)
Evlyn Joe is going to be here any day now and I'm feeling the entire gamut of emotions. Both my heart and brain are bouncing around between excited, anxious, worried, grateful, sad, intimidated, you name it. Right now, in this moment, I just want her to get here so I can stop worrying about what life is going to look like and just be in it. It's about to get crazy, whether I'm ready or not, so I just wish I could squeeze the throttle.
I've never been asked to capture a bachelorette party before, but now, now I think it's a service I'm going to consistently offer to my brides. It was just too much fun, I was laughing right along with them the whole time. And I mean, these ladies, their flower crowns, and this light...
One of the best and most amazing moms I know, my cousin Steph, was blessed with these gorgeous twin girls last year, Gracie + Lilly. Oh how we love them so! These photos are from their six months session. It was awesome to see and capture little sparks of their personalities starting to shine through!
