Zak and I just got back this afternoon from our first wedding of the year up in Green Bay at the very cool Tundra Lodge - an up north-esque hotel the gracious Bill + Erica put us up in for the weekend. Weddings we travel to and stay over at are always a little adventure in themselves and I thought I'd share a little of the sometimes luxurious, sometimes hard-pressed, but always exciting behind the scenes before getting to work on editing the wedding photos. :)
We snapped some i-phone pics to help document our stay. (Getting better at this blogging stuff!) We loved all the fun taxidermy through out the hotel, but one of the pitfalls of out of town weddings, sometimes weddings in general, you're work day finishes up well after any decent food is still being served, even if you had the energy to go anywhere, so we satisfied our late nite snack attack with over-priced vending machine goodies. And we're always able to rest easy knowing the Madkid Duo is being well taken care of, this time by my big sister Carolynn! Thanks love! xoxox
We're always excited to photograph weddings that are outside the average one hour radius just for the opportunity to make images in new and unique settings. It's also nice having a long drive with Zak, from the lite conversations to the necessary business discussions, it's always valued time. And I mean, come on, no matter the destination, it's fun to get away from your own digs once in a while. But with the pros always come a few cons, right? One of the only, but probably the biggest one for us is leaving the Madkid Duo behind. Thankfully I have two amazing sisters who help us out and come hang out with them. Another biggie is making sure we have everything packed, this time it was my make-up. Did not pack one stitch. Oh well, not the worst thing I could have forgotten...
All-in-all, it was a very successful weekend and I can't wait to edit the pictures! We added a few tricks to the arsenal for this season and I can't wait to see how they all turned out! Big shout out to Bill & Erica and their families, we had a great time, thanks so much for having us!
Thanks so much for reading! I'm going to get back to enjoying my sweet and cozy welcome home!
P.S. My week five #jgm52in2014 might be a little late...I'm beat! But check back soon!
